Eurail

Railpasses are usually the most economical way for students to travel in Europe.

Unlike the United States where private transport is the primary mode of transportation, Europeans rely on public transport systems (airplanes, trains, and buses). Eurail passes provide a convenient and inexpensive way of traveling on trains in Europe. For further information visit www.railpass.com or www.studentuniverse.com

You can also buy individual tickets for short trips and save the pass for longer, more expensive trips. For example, train tickets are rather inexpensive in Italy, but quite expensive in Germany.
