Rome
Rome is the capital of Italy, and is also identified with the Catholic church. It is one of the few major European cities that left World War II unscathed, and is thus a good example of Renaissance and Baroque character.
There is TONS to do in Roma, make sure you leave yourself enough time to do/see everything without rushing.
