Study Abroad Programs
The Marketing Department sponsors several study abroad programs, as well as participating in many other offered by the Pamplin College of Business. Programs offering one semesters study in Business in Switzerland are available in both fall and spring. During the summer, students can participate in one month study programs in Asia and Africa.
Marketing Department Sponsored Study Abroad Programs:
- Fall Semester in Europe:
- The fall semester in Europe combines 21 semester hours in Business with a 3 credit study-abroad course. The program is held at the University's villa in Riva, San Vitale , Switzerland , where students both live and attend classes.
- Spring Semester in Europe:
- This program combines classroom instruction with real-world projects. Students take classes in Italian, marketing research, consumer behavior and Issue Management or Persuasion. The program culminates in a consultant-like field project that addresses a significant social problem, such as cancer detection or organ donation.
- Asia Study Abroad 2006:
- A study abroad trip planned for the First Summer Session 2006 in Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Students also spend two weeks traveling in Vietnam, and Cambodia. During the trip, most days are spent visiting factories, businesses, and universities, observing the various Asian cultures, attending lectures and discussions, sightseeing, and traveling.
